Several months ago, I was meeting with my friend
Bryndon Preston at Chick-fil-A in Noblesville and I had the opportunity to witness real passion. Bryndon is a passionate guy in a lot of ways, but I had never heard anyone speak so passionately about wellness before. In fact, I was born a skeptic and had always discounted Chiropractors, thinking that they had less than noble intentions, and that their primary goal was to “break you up” and then offer you a little temporary relief, some “Turkish delight” so to speak to keep you coming back for more. Despite this skepticism, I thoroughly trust Bryndon and his judgment and after an hour, I felt like ‘
The Wellness Prescription’ was something I wanted to learn more about and to truly see for myself.
Fast forward a month and I had one of those unpleasant streaks when you feel like you are falling apart. My back and neck were killing me to the point where I could hardly think of anything else and then I woke up one morning after coaching my daughter’s soccer practice and my ankle was in so much pain I could hardly walk. After about a day I called Bryndon and asked if he thought it would be possible to get in to see
Dr. Oxenrider along with the Massage Therapist extraordinaire that Bryndon had also raved about. I kid you not, the same day Bryndon (sometimes it pays to know people I suppose : - ) ) called me back and said I could get in the next morning at 6:00 to see Bob AND had me set up for an appointment with Dr. Aaron (Oxenrider) the following Monday morning first thing. Now that was service and my back was begging for relief…
Fast forward 1 more month and I have to say that I am totally sold… hook, line, and sinker. Both Bob and Dr. Aaron were far more than a Chiropractor and a Massage Therapist. Instead, they were Health Advisors/ Consultants. They listened, informed, taught, and instructed. I learned several new stretching exercises, I recognized some changes I need to make to my desk/ work station, and I finally heard the “why” instead of the “what” that I have always known, but rarely practiced. Sure, of course I know I should drink 100 ounces of water a day, but why? Well, now I know and have drank more gallons of water in the last month than in the previous 3 months I am sure, and that is just one small example.
This past week I ran 21 miles, hit the gym once for a great workout, and had a nice, long bike ride as well. I treasured every mile and can’t wait to get back on the road and into the gym. I just wanted to relay my sincere thanks to Dr. Aaron, to Bob, and to Bryndon for each of your roles in my fast recovery. These guys have great character, solid intentions, and they absolutely know what they are doing. If you are having inexplicable pain, soreness, or problems that your doctor hasn’t quite been able to figure out or traditional medicine hasn’t been able to solve, I highly recommend you set an appointment with the
United Wellness Center team. Personally, I am now more excited than I originally was to learn more about ‘
The Wellness Prescription’. I will report back soon with what I learn!
