How-To sync files between multiple computers. Meet DropBox, my newest favorite #free #application

Back Post to Twitter Share

I have been using DropBox for a month now, and it has become one of those indespensible applications that I use every day on every machine - and I feel that it is my karmic duty to tell Indianapolis about this amazing product. It's like an online thumb drive that's connected to every single computer you use - at the same time.

For example, I have 5 computers I use on a daily basis - My labs MacPro, my works iMac and PC, my MacBook Pro and my basement entertainment center. Each of these have a normal folder called DropBox. This awesome folder-of-wonder is "magically" synced between each of them, drag a file to Dropbox on my laptop - and poof - it shows up in the Dropbox folder at work. To top it off, you can also access a web site to browse the same files, see the different versions and share them using a simple url. But best of all - IT'S FREE - with a 2gig account - which is plenty of space for the common user.

Check out this DropBox screencast, then sign up here, (you can buy me a beer later to thank me). http://getdropbox.com
